    ⭐ 5/5

I honestly don’t understand why this place has only a 3.7 rating — it deserves so much more! Trust me, I’ve been to top-rated places like Dishoom (27k reviews and all), and this one truly offers a worthwhile experience.

This restaurant is a must, must, must visit for anyone craving authentic vegetarian or South Indian food. Absolutely worth it 👌

I tried the Rasam Vada (Vadai) — the spice level was perfect, exactly how it should be. The Rawa Onion Dosa was super crisp, and I could even taste the ghee — simply amazing!

This restaurant easily belongs in the 4.5+ star category. Don’t miss it! 🌟

Went with my mom for the Thali — so delicious! Great mix of curries, dal, rice, and sweets, all full of authentic Indian flavour. Generous portions and warm service. We both loved it and will definitely go back!

Amazing and truly authentic Indian food — coming from a foodie from India! Many restaurants try to adapt to Western taste buds, but this place proudly serves genuine Indian flavours. They offer the best of both North and South Indian cuisines, with a strong focus on traditional vegetarian dishes — just as real Indian food should be. My family and I enjoyed it so much that we ended up eating here almost every day.

I didn’t do much research before coming here, so I asked the staff to recommend me some vegan dishes. I ended up ordering the Arya Bhavan Special Podi Idly, which is their signature. The texture was interesting, almost like a Thai dessert, but coated in flavourful spices that made it really tasty. I also tried the 6 Suvai Uthappam, which is like a rice pancake topped with different kinds of vegetables. It was alright for me, though quite similar in concept to the idly, so I’d recommend trying other dishes for more variety.

The staff were helpful, and the location is good. Just keep in mind this is a vegetarian restaurant, so if you’re vegan make sure to double-check your order and let the staff know clearly.

    Disappointing to say the least.

The wait staff was scrambling and yet nothing was done. They were just running around without any purpose. They did not look like they were trained. There delay in ordering and we had to ask multiple time to multiple people for our foor once rhe orders were placed.

The kitchen was not in sync, the food one one person came, she ate, waited for half an hour for remaining food to come.

    Now the food part
It looked like the cook did not put any effort in making the food.
We ordered mysur masala dosa, it was nice.
Then came the SPECIAL MOMO, served with white Garlic sauce and tamarind chutney!!!!!! Who eats momo with garlic white sauce and tamarind chutney.
Then the schezwan fried noodles, the noodles were so overcooked that they were mushy in texture. The amount of oil put into the noodles could have been used to cook the entire menu of that restaurant that night.
Same was for the fried rice. They were served with tomato ketchup.
They need to work on every department of the restaurant.

So I was suggested the Masala Dosa which didn’t disappoint in terms of flavour. It was actually quite delicious. Loved it 👌very nice

The Masala dosa is famous south indian rice crepe stuffed with spiced potato - served with 2 chutneys (coriander and coconut) and sambar (lentil curry)

I ordered a masala dosa and they served to me in a takeaway bag which I didn’t request. Not that it bothered me much to be honest but for others maybe?

I told the server that I shall seat myself outside to eat, had I actually asked for a takeaway I doubt they would have gave the mango lassi in a glass. Haha

Waited 30minutes for the dosa ⏰ the mango lassi came to me within five minutes after ordering. 👍

The dosa was not that hot, it was as if it was sitting in that box for a while before it came to me which was a shame

I feel like if I had eaten it absolutely freshly cooked without it sitting around before it being served to me I would have not bothered at all that I waited 30minutes for it because the flavours were actually exceptional.

Pros: The taste of the masala dosa is great as well as the dips that are accompanied on the side.

Cons: Waiting time, Confusion on how the order was handled.

The total bill £17.50 for Masala Dosa and Mango Lassi.

I would come again and suggest this place.

We tried Arya Bhavan this weekend, the options available in the menu are good however some of the dishes were not available. The waiting staff did not manage or provide a good service. They kept a senior citizen waiting out in the cold without even offering a chair or a space to sit. There was chaos in looking for a table and when the table was assigned the waiting staff did not turn up for almost 10 mins, they needed constant reminders for even the smallest of things like water, cutlery etc.. when we ordered the food the staff then came and informed that an item we ordered was not available without even suggesting or asking if we wanted to look for alternatives. During the meal we had asked for an additional item which was part of the South Indian thali, the staff did not bring the rice till about after 20 mins of waiting and 3 reminders, my question is that if you don’t have time to serve why do accept bookings ?

Now for the food - The dosas were great! The chutneys were good but a tad spicy and this may not appeal to the western palette.

The south India thali needs more improvement, do not just fill all the cups for the sake of filling it, the sambar, Rasam and Koori all tasted very flat with little or no flavour. The only reason I did not send it back is that I was hungry and given the wait times we were facing it was wise to eat what you got. £19.90 is over pricy for the food we got in the thali. The chapati was also not hot enough but was manageable !

May not go back unless forced to visit or due to group choosing to try this place again. You need to fix your service and your attitude as the food still is good.

Firstly I’d like to say that the food here is incredibly authentic and delicious! 10/10 on that part. Additionally the location is fantastic as it is in Trafalgar Square with all the main attractions around. However the atmosphere could be improved as the aesthetics of the restaurant aren’t incredibly appealing. What would be great would be a new sign and maybe some decorations. Other than this minor detail everything else is lovely! 👏👏

Arya Bhavan the Veg Paradise in Central London. Its a ild Sarvana Bhavan shop now named as Arya Bhavan. Space is crowded and table space is also very narrow. Food quality and quantity both are great. If you are a tourist and in around Leicester Sq, Piccadilly Sq, Trafalgar Sq or Covent Garden … do find this gem. Do not try non south indian food. Its as usual not good. Overall a great experience and friendly staff. Will visit here again and again…

I had never tried South Indian food, so I decided to visit Arya Bhavan. We started with their Special Podi Idli, Paya Idli, and Honey Chilli Potato. Then we tried the Seven Spicy Cheese, Crispy Lollipop, and momos. 🍆🥕
I always wanted to try an authentic South Indian dosa, so I tried the Masala Dosa and Ragi Dosa. After that, we had the Chettinad Rava and Vegetable Uthappam 🥗

For the main course, we had Chilli Gobi with kulcha, sweet corn, and golden fried rice with bhindi do pyaza and Arya Bhavans's Special Biryani 🍚. If you like sweets, Arya Bhavan has their own variety of sweets too 🧁

If you are a vegetarian and looking for authentic South Indian food in central London.

This is the best South Indian meal i had outside India. The food and service was just amazing. Had the following items
    1) Medhu Wada dipped in Sambar
    2) Idly chutey dipped
    3) Podi Dosa
    5) Ghee Rava dosa
    6) Mango Lassi

All of them were brilliant but the best amongst all was Ghee Rava Dosa!
